KSCORE FAQs?

What is KSCORE?

Keller Successful Career Opportunities in Real Estate (KSCORE) is a 100% digital, real estate training program offered by Keller Williams. It combines state-approved pre-licensing coursework (provided through Kaplan Real Estate Education) with Keller Williams’ own KW Prep curriculum. In simple terms, KSCORE gives aspiring agents the required education to get their real estate license at no cost, plus additional coaching and real-world business skills training. The goal is to make entry into real estate more accessible by removing the financial barrier and providing a clear, self-paced path to licensure and success.

Who can enroll in the KSCORE program?

Anyone aspiring to start a career in real estate can enroll – no prior experience or degree is required. The program is open to the general public as well as KW associates seeking continuing education. Participants must still meet their state’s licensing requirements (such as being at least 18, holding a high-school diploma or equivalent, and passing a background check). Enrollment is through a participating Keller Williams Market Center that sponsors the student. After licensure, students may choose to affiliate with KW or any brokerage – there is no obligation.

Is KSCORE available in my state?

The pre-licensing scholarship (through Kaplan) is offered in 24 U.S. states including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. KW Prep is available nationwide, so even in states not covered by Kaplan you can still complete the professional-development modules.

How do I enroll?

Students can enroll by completing KSCORE Scholarship application at wearekwinfo.com/kscore. It's a straightforward process that opens up opportunities for financial support in your educational journey.

Does it really cost nothing to attend KSCORE?

Yes – the tuition and course materials are fully covered by Keller Williams as a scholarship. Students are only responsible for state-level expenses such as exam fees, license application fees, fingerprints, or background checks. There are no hidden costs or repayment obligations.

Am I obligated to work with Keller Williams after completing the program?

No. There is no contractual requirement to join Keller Williams after completing KSCORE. Many graduates choose to do so because of the training and mentorship provided, but participants are free to affiliate with any brokerage.

KW Prep Modules

KW Prep is Keller Williams’ career-readiness curriculum designed to complement the Kaplan pre-licensing coursework. It focuses on real-world application – mindset, time management, lead generation, profitability, and exposure to KW tools and culture. The program includes 17 self-paced modules, each featuring video lessons and exercises led by KW coaches.

Kaplan Course & Access

The Kaplan online pre-licensing course satisfies all state education requirements. Most students complete it within six months. Delivery is self-paced online, though some states allow upgrades to live-virtual formats for an added fee. Students take unit quizzes and a proctored final exam to earn a completion certificate qualifying them for the state licensing exam.

Exam Preparation and Testing

After completing the Kaplan course, students schedule and pass the state licensing exam, complete any required fingerprinting/background checks, and then affiliate with a broker to activate their license. KSCORE does not cover exam or license-application fees. Kaplan provides practice exams, flashcards, and math review tools to prepare for testing.

Support & Technical Help

Program Timeline

Students have six months of Kaplan course access from activation. KW Prep has no fixed deadline but should ideally be completed alongside the licensing coursework. Extensions are available from Kaplan if additional time is needed.

Post-Licensing and Joining Keller Williams

After passing the state exam and obtaining a license, graduates may choose to affiliate with Keller Williams by signing an Independent Contractor Agreement, joining the local Realtor Association / MLS, and beginning the new-agent Ignite training program. There is no financial obligation to KW if a graduate chooses another brokerage.
